Domestic Violence

Do you know what Domestic Violence is?

  • Every 9 seconds a woman is physically abused by her partner in the U.S.
  • 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her life time.
  • 40-60% of Asian American report experiencing physical and/or sexual abuse in their life.
  • These are only some alarming statics regarding domestic violence. Domestic violence does not discriminate age, gender, social status, and race.
The Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB) is extending its services to Vietnamese-speaking domestic violence victims. We understand that language barriers can be a major factor in preventing victims from seeking help.

Starting June 15th, 2010 VACCEB will launch a domestic violence telephone Helpline for the Vietnamese-speaking community in the East Bay. In addition to the telephone Helpline, we will also have FREE printed educational materials for you regarding this issue. A speaker is also available to give presentations in Vietnamese regarding domestic violence.
