Health Access

VACCEB is a proud supporter of programs and intiatives that support the health of the Vietnamese American community. Through our partnerships with national, regional and local agencies, VACCEB is addressing health issues and needs affecting Vietnamese Americans, among them Hepatitis B, breast and cervical cancer, mental health and loneliness, prostate cancer and hypertension through community workshops and seminars, research projects, media outreach, and educational brochures.

In the next few years, VACCEB will focus on developing programs that will increase access for the many Vietnamese adults and seniors who face linguistic, cultural and other socioeconomic barriers to approaching and navigating health care. Currently, VACCEB collaborates with Oakland-based health agencies to host health fairs and screening events, as well as the Cancer Prevention Institute of California and Asian Health Services to address health issues for nail salon workers and owners. Additionally, we provide case management and health translation services to our clients.

We hope to broaden our reputation in the community as the “go to” center and “service provider of choice” for Vietnamese Americans as we continue to strengthen our health initiatives in the coming year.
