Scholarships

The Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB) in consiste of three scholarships valued at $1000 each for college-bound high school seniors and undergraduate students of Vietnamese descent who reside in the East Bay. The purpose of this scholarship program is to encourage and promote community participation by Vietnamese American youth while rewarding those who have already done so.

Scholarships will be awarded in two categories.

1. Eligible students must be a graduating senior currently enrolled in any East Bay area public high school.

  • Student must have a minimum of 3.0 overall GPA
  • Must write a 500-600 essay on a specific prompt
  • 2. Eligible students must be enrolled as an undergraduate student in any public college in East Bay area.

  • Student must have a minimum of 3.0 overall GPA if enrolled in a community college and a 2.85 overall GPA if enrolled in a UC/CSU
  • Must write a 900-1000 word essay on a specific prompt
  • For specific eligibility criteria, essay prompt and guidelines, you can download an application below or pick up forms at the VACCEB office at 655 International Blvd., Oakland, CA 94606.

    All essays, required forms and documents must be received at the VACCEB office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 or via email at scholarship@vacceb.net. Scholarships will be presented at a special event.
